Just Diagnosed – Help and Support

Because it is a relatively uncommon cancer type, a pancreatic cancer diagnosis can be particularly unexpected and very upsetting.

It is common to feel overwhelmed and confused by the amount of information that is given to you when you are diagnosed with any cancer.  It can impact many areas of your life in ways that you might not have anticipated. Your ability to work, finances, relationships with friends and family, as well as your emotional wellbeing can all be affected in different ways.

There are a number of charities and support institutions whose aim is to support anyone affected by cancer including both those that have been diagnosed and their friends and family.

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK nurses can also be contacted via 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm if you’d like to speak to someone in person.
