Derek Grose

Chief Investigator of PRIMUS 002

‌Derek is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist + Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre since Jan 2011 with sub speciality interests in Upper GI and Head/Neck. His main research interests are in technical radiotherapy in Upper GI malignancy and systemic therapy trials in Head/Neck cancers.

He has a number of current research grants including the development of autosegmentation software to aid target definition in radiotherapy planning in MRI and a recently awarded Pancreatic Cancer UK (PCUK) grant to explore the correlation of hypoxic imaging, using PET Fluromisonidazole (F-MISO), with pathological specimens in patients undergoing neoadjuvant (chemo) radiotherapy for borderline resectable pancreatic cancer.
He is the Clinical Chief Investigator for the PRIMUS 002 trial focusing on biomarker and liquid biopsy development in the neoadjuvant setting in Pancreatic Cancer.
